Premier league debutantes Tamale City got their first ever win in the league after 8 games played.
Aduana Stars who are currently the league leaders going into the world cup break took the lead through Bright Adjei, a nice header to lob the goalkeeper. Sampson Eduku came on from the bench to score the equalizer for the Citizens. Isaac Mensah stepped up to convert a penalty spot to score the winner and complete a comeback over the leaders.

Tamale City could have been up by 3 goals before half time, squandering a number of clear chances. Their major problem so far is converting their chances. A team who were breaking goal scoring records in the first division are finding it hard to score goals. With just 5 goals scored after 8 matches played, 2 open play goals scored and 3 are from the penalty spot.
#2. Emma Returns
Attacking fullback Emmanuel Kotei returned to the starting eleven after he was sacked by the club due to disciplinary issues. Emma was sent off in Tamale City lose against Legon Cities on match day 2. The management of the club issued a communique sacking the player. The fans weren’t happy about the decision of the club so it brought relieved to the citizens fan base seeing him back into team after he issued an apology letter to the club.
