Ghana defeated Sudan by 3-1 in Constantine today to ensure they stand tall for a qualification from the group stages. The black Galaxies completed a sweet comeback over Sudan to get the qualification nod.
Sudan started the game more of the better since the blast of the referee’s whistle. Their star man and Al Hilal Omdurman forward hit the woodwork in the 16th minute of the first half. Perhaps that didn’t stop the Sudanese as they broke the deadlock of the game in the 31st minute of the game through Al- Gozoli Nooh the Al Merreikh forward.
Getting to the end of the first department of the game, Ghana got the equalizer through Hearts of oak Defender Konadu Yiadom in the 45+3 minutes of the first half.
The Black galaxies came into the second half with more determination and commitment and it paid off on the 64th when Daniel Afriyie Barnieh converted a neat strike shot from the spot to complete the comeback for Ghana.
After being denied his second goal of the tournament, Afriyie Barnieh was also sent off in the 90+7 minutes of the game, and Ghana never gave up until the 84th-minute substitute, Suraj Seidu put the icing on the cake for the galaxies just a minute to end the game.
After the win, Ghana moves to the first position in Group C with 6pts and Madagascar, Sudan and Morocco follow in the 2nd,3rd, and 4th positions respectively.
