Ghana’s coach, Chris Hughton, emphasized that the Black Stars played better than Comoros and didn’t deserve the defeat at the Stade de Moroni during the post-match conference.
Despite their efforts, Comoros stunned Ghana with a 1-0 victory in the Group I match-day two fixture of the 2026 FIFA World Cup on Tuesday evening.

“Congratulations to Comoros for the victory. In my opinion over the 90 minutes, we were the better team. I thought Ghana we were the better team. We conceded what we regarded as a poor goal to concede and we were not able to capitalise on the chances that we had,” Hughton said.
“So this was not a game where Comoros won this game comfortably. Over the 90 minutes, we were the better team but unfortunately, we were not able to put away the chances that we created,”
Chris Hughton is now shifting his focus to the upcoming African Cup of Nations, where he faces considerable pressure to deliver results.”
